About Us

Mission Statement

To strive for the betterment of the community by serving it through the means of educating the children, relieving the elderly from solitary life and alleviating poverty through a Centre of Excellence.

Aims & Objectives

  • To prepare the children of today to become the leaders of tomorrow
  •   To serve the local elderly population
  •   Increase the well being of the community
  •   Assist the unemployed
  •   Reduce youth crime

History

“Are those equal, those who know and those who do not?”

“The best among you are those who read and teach the Qur’an,” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).  Learning is a compulsory act in Islam and one that has been prescribed to every single mand, woman, and child; what then is a better subject to learn than the Qur’an?

This was the philosophy behind Maktabh Bab-Ul-Ilm.  We wanted to instil the Taqwah (God consciencness), sincerity and morals in the children so that they grow up to become excellent Momins (pious and God conscience Muslims).  Momins who grow up to become successful people who unite the Muslim ummah beyond any sectarianism and become ambassadors for Islam from whom the whole mankind can benefit from.

Future Projects

We have big ambitions and aim to grow not only in size, but also in the services that we offer.  It is time to think about the next 25 years.

Our projects in the pipeline are:

  • The establishment of a Centre of Excellence to prepare the children for the 11+ examinations in the subjects of English, Maths and Science.
  • A Day Centre to be established to meet the needs of the elderly in order to relieve them from hunger and solitary life.
  • Promoting good health, tackling sickness and relieving poverty by providing advice to the community.
  • An Employment Resource Centre to be set up in order to provide relief of unemployment for the community and helping people with financial difficulty.
  • Providing recreational activities to the local youth to channel their energy positively.
  • To establish a Muslim Funeral Service to meet the needs of the local Muslims.
  • A place to pray the five daily prayers as well as the Friday prayer.

Volunteering

We have voluntary teachers teaching Quran and Islamic Studies.  We are planning to introduce the subjects of English, Maths and Science.  If you are a teacher or know someone then please get in touch with us.

Let’s build something together.
